Who Wins Nextiva vs. Ring Central

In the world of VOIP phone services, these 2 are the leading champs. There are a few others, but I have yet to find another company in this same price point that offers everything that both of these companies offer.

However, if you want a short quick answer. NEXTIVA IS THE WINNER! Go ahead and sign up for them right here.

Now, for those of you that want more details as to why, let me share my experience. I have used both Ring Central for over 10 years and Nextiva is coming up on year 4.  I desperately couldn't wait to leave Ring Central and that is how I found Nextiva in the first place.

So for this review, we are simply going to use "User Experience" as our criteria.

Comparable Features

Both Nextiva and Ring Central Provide the same services for the most part. These services include but are not limited to:

Toll-Free Numbers
Auto-Attendant
Multiple Users and Extensions

User Experience

I was  a user of Ring Central for over 10 years. In the beginning it was a decent service. However, after year 5, things got ruff. The phone calls would oftentimes have tons of static. When we used to complain, ring central would say it was an Internet issue. We upgraded to the highest internet possible. We still had static. Then it would drop calls and then it just started to stop working all together. We started to experience "phone outages" all the time. In the 4 years with Nextiva we have NEVER HAD a phone outage. Not one time.

Trying to understand Ring Central customer service was hard work. They were friendly and really did try, but they were overseas and again the calls would be filled with static. All of Nextiva's customer service is stateside and they NEVER have static.

What Nextiva has that Ring Central didn't have

The game changing item that exist within Nextiva that RingCentral NEVER HAD was a phone app! Please allow me to share as to why you really want this. If you are a small business owner like myself, then you know that sometimes your entire team maybe out and their is no one to answer the phones.  Or maybe you are out in the field and want to make a call "from your office phone" but you are not in the office. The NETIVA APP SOLVES THIS! With there APP it comes with the capability to make calls from your office phone! It also allows you to answers calls from your office line ANYWHERE YOU ARE! This is a a serious asset. Nobody ever has to be "in the office". You can even transfer the calls in the app to anyone's number you want to. It also comes with "inner app text" capability. So you and your entire team can text each other in a group or directly on the app. This feature alone makes Nextiva the champion in my book. I'm not sure if RingCentral has an app now, but they didn't when I left.

Ease of Usage

I will say this is one component that Ring Central actually did a little better and that was, the ease of "changing the hold music" and making custom messages. In Nextiva you will need an advanced degree to do this. In RingCentral it was easier.

Otherwise, Nextiva was easier in every other way.

In Conclusion

If I had to make the decision all over again. I would still go with Nextiva hands down. Their customer service is superior and the phones actually "sound good". Which was the priority for me. When it comes down to pricing. You get more for your money with Nextiva too.

Yes, I liked Nextiva so much, I signed up as an Affiliate. I bet you once you start using it, you will sing it's praises too.
